THE PRINCIPLE OF CONTROL PICTURE

According to regulations, "each participant must also confirm his visit to places of control by a photograph of his machine on the associated panel control instead. Specific information regarding the nature and location of such signs are set in the "routes" of the Super Trail available at the site of the Audax Club Parisien.

Cela deserves some explanation.
The use of photo control is due to the nature of the event. Indeed, it is the only way to prove the passage of participating in various summits. The binding of the control picture helps ensure the reliability and value of the hike in the interest of those who have honestly done.
The photo has many advantages. It provides hikers with a total independence and total control of inspection operations. No wasted time, no time constraints. We can photograph at night (provided you have a flash). In addition, the photograph at the top of collar is a little ritual to punish own ascension. Moreover, if the participant thinks set the clock on his aircraft, it will give him (and organizer) real time scoring. Finally, the picture will become a memory that will delight the walker to keep.
We are in the era of information technology and miniaturization, enjoy it! A camera is not bulky and pictures cost nothing. Indeed, the photos do not need to be developed, they can be sent to the organizer as a digital file.

CONTROL BY STAMP

In seven cases following the photograph may, at the participant's choice, be replaced by the use on the road map, a stamp bearing the name of the place of inspection: 1

THE ROAD MAP

Those who have patents, arrows or other hiking experience the principle: the road map (patent card) is an essential document.
Do not confuse it with the roadmap (cue sheet or road book): see the wording "Roadmap" on this blog.
The road map is personal. It certifies that the participant is formally hiking. He receives a registration number. He mentioned name, address, and possibly club, federation, license number.
The participant must keep it on him during the whole ordeal. He notes the date and exact time of departure and arrival and passing each intermediate check in the boxes provided for this purpose.
The road map is not the Super Trail cumbersome (it is a leaf cartonnée de 24x13 cm, pliée en trois, soit 8x13 cm).
C'est l'un des seuls échanges which can only be done via email.
This map proves that the participant has successfully completed the trek. It also indicates in which category, and what is the time set. Where appropriate, it may open the door to the holder of other races. No Super
Hiking without road map! Caution, do not send the organizer a cloth or paper unreadable. Remember to protect it rains and put elsewhere in the pocket of the shirt on large sweat!

Originally, the word means patent the road map itself: used for scoring and then validated by the organizer, she attests to the success of the event. It is a certificate given to one who has made a determined ride, respecting of course the rules and deadlines. Therefore it was said that the hikers were "crazy pedaling for a piece of paper" ...

MIND

Autonomy

"Since the time of Vélocio, autonomy has always been a fundamental characteristic of hikers and we hope it remains so.
The hiker must know how to take charge, organize, map reading, self-insure scores, refuel, get water, repair and maintain a normal lighting condition, then it must to know enough to manage only his fatigue and sometimes his discouragement.
Si vous participez en catégorie "Hiker", be aware that use of a following car to improve performance figures is contrary to the spirit walker.
However, there is no reason that a vehicle found participants in the category "Tourist" to their stage in the evening.
Finally, camaraderie and solidarity are very much in the spirit of the Super Trail. All participants, if they wish, can travel in groups and help each other, "
(extracted Recommendations on the Super Trail, published on the website of the ACP).

Equality, emulation, record

The Super Trail is not a competition and has no ranking. The times achieved will be published in alphabetical order of winners.
All those who pass the Super Trail remain equal, regardless of their performance in terms of timing. There are no large or small hikers. There is a family, hikers, simply.
However, hikers are not opposed to emulation and know how to take their hats to the holder of a record (that is, the best time history on a particular route).
Everyone conceivable that the idea of improving this record is a deep motivation. Have not we all a little personal border crossing - most often our own best time?
is a question of mentality. The hiker does not try to beat an opponent in a timely manner, but to surpass oneself continuously. To be, so far, the strongest of two, just as the other, in that same moment is lower, but this is not it better "relative" of interest. Keep in mind that our personal success is only a stone added the building. That to which we all aspire, is the best of ourselves is the best 'in itself, the absolute best.

Sport, Health, Tourism

These are the essential values of FFCT, home to our organizations.
I want to commend the County Committee of the Var and congratulate him on his interest in long-distance hiking, both Paris and Beijing, the Rocky Mountain 1200 or the Paris- Brest-Paris. Its recognition
really touched me and I felt strong in my way to practice long distance: cycling, that is to say according to these values.
Tourism, because we are travelers at heart, always in search of discoveries, encounters and beautiful landscapes. Health
because our practice provides us with a physical balance beneficial, and our rejection of the competition keeps us from falling into certain excesses.
Sports because scenery is worth! Hiking long distance gives us a taste of the effort and transcendence. It finally gives us pride to reach the end of our challenges with our own resources: our strength, our willingness and enthusiasm.

Tradition

Elle s’inspire également de la Super Randonnèe Fausto Coppi, une épreuve 440 km and over 11,000 vertical meters, held every two years by the association and Ivano Vinai Fausto Coppi on the road, from Cuneo in the Italian Piedmont.
