THE PRINCIPLE OF CONTROL PICTURE

According to regulations, "each participant must also confirm his visit to places of control by a photograph of his machine on the associated panel control instead. Specific information regarding the nature and location of such signs are set in the "routes" of the Super Trail available at the site of the Audax Club Parisien. These informations pourront également être demandées par courrier au responsable de la Super Randonnée. Le contrôle photo est déjà toléré sur certaines épreuves d’endurance, comme les Diagonales ou les Cinglés du Ventoux, lorsque le participant est dans l’impossibilité de faire tamponner sa carte.
La Super Randonnée innove en faisant de la photo le principal outil de contrôle, reléguant au second rang le bon vieux cachet humide (de tristesse).
Cela deserves some explanation.
The use of photo control is due to the nature of the event. Indeed, it is the only way to prove the passage of participating in various summits. The binding of the control picture helps ensure the reliability and value of the hike in the interest of those who have honestly done.
The photo has many advantages. It provides hikers with a total independence and total control of inspection operations. No wasted time, no time constraints. We can photograph at night (provided you have a flash). In addition, the photograph at the top of collar is a little ritual to punish own ascension. Moreover, if the participant thinks set the clock on his aircraft, it will give him (and organizer) real time scoring. Finally, the picture will become a memory that will delight the walker to keep.
We are in the era of information technology and miniaturization, enjoy it! A camera is not bulky and pictures cost nothing. Indeed, the photos do not need to be developed, they can be sent to the organizer as a digital file.

THE ROAD MAP

Those who have patents, arrows or other hiking experience the principle: the road map (patent card) is an essential document.
Do not confuse it with the roadmap (cue sheet or road book): see the wording "Roadmap" on this blog.
The road map is personal. It certifies that the participant is formally hiking. He receives a registration number. He mentioned name, address, and possibly club, federation, license number.
The participant must keep it on him during the whole ordeal. He notes the date and exact time of departure and arrival and passing each intermediate check in the boxes provided for this purpose.
The road map is not the Super Trail cumbersome (it is a leaf cartonnée de 24x13 cm, pliée en trois, soit 8x13 cm).
La carte de route comporte également des cases destinées à recevoir le cachet d'un commerçant, dans les localités désignées comme lieux de contrôle. Sur la Super Randonnée, ce type de pointage est facultatif. Le cachet peut remplacer une photo, mais le participant peut très bien n'utiliser que le contrôle photo, et les cases à cachet, rester vierges.
Après la randonnée, elle sert de support à l'homologation: le participant la renvoie à l'organisateur, qui la vérifie et lui attribue un numéro d'homologation, puis la renvoie définitivement au participant. C'est l'un des seuls échanges which can only be done via email.
